Features

Organic benefits

Contains composted manure, seaweed, fish extracts and bio stimulants to improve soil quality and lawn vigour

Controlled feeding

Slow release of nutrients eliminates waste through run-off and leaching and prevents burning and surge growth

No surge growth after application

Traditional lawn foods release or 'dump' most of their nutrients within a couple of weeks of application, causing a rapid surge in growth that quickly drops off again as the food supply diminishes. Lawn Builder uses patented time-release technology to ensure nutrients are released slowly and continuously over a three month period

Boosted iron

Plus Organics is fortified with iron to promote lush green lawns

Wetting agent

Improves water retention in the soil and helps roots absorb nutrients faster and more efficiently. Better moisture penetration and retention aids in drought proofing your lawn

Sizes

8kg pail

Suitable for

Safe to use on all lawns including buffalo, couch and kikuyu

Also safe to use on grass alternatives such as dichondra (also known as pennywort or kidney weed), lippia, zoysia

Not suitable for

Lawn Builder Plus Organics is not recommended for use on plants other than lawn grasses and lawn substitutes

Do not use if the temperature is expected to exceed 30 degrees C or when lawns are stressed and the soil is dry

How it works

  • Lawn Builder Plus Organics is a slow release fertiliser that provides continuous nutrition over a two month period
  • Plus Organics contains Scotts patented time-release nitrogen as well as organic nitrogen
  • Nutrients are released at about the same rate that grass roots can take up the fertiliser so there is no wastage, run-off to waterways or damaging surge growth

How to use

How much will I need?

Plus Organics has a recommended application rate of 45g/m2.

To work out how much you will need to fertilise your lawn:

  1. Calculate the area of the lawn in square metres (multiply the length by the width)
  2. The area multiplied by the application rate will give the exact amount of Lawn Builder you need
  3. Use a set of scales to weigh it accurately - do not be tempted to add a 'bit extra for luck' because over-application may result in nitrogen burning

    As a guide:
¼ of a tennis court is about 65m2
½ of a tennis court is about 130m2
An entire tennis court is about 260m2

How do I apply it?

  1. For best results, use a Scotts spreader
  2. Check your model and make sure to set it correctly before you start (settings are also on the back label of the product)

EvenGreen Drop Spreader - setting 9½*
EasyGreen Rotary Spreader - setting 31*
HandyGreen or Easy Handheld Spreader - setting 5#

    * Settings given apply half the required product. Move over the entire area in one direction (north-south), then repeat at 90 degrees (east-west) to give full even coverage
    # The hopper of the handheld spreaders holds approximately 2kg when filled almost to the top. Weigh out the amount you require, place in hopper then move evenly over the lawn at walking pace until the calculated amount is used.

  3. If you don't have a spreader, make sure you distribute the fertiliser evenly over the lawn at the rate of 1 handful (45g) per square metre - uneven applications may result in 'hot spot' burning where too much has landed in one spot
  4. Water in thoroughly after application
  5. If using to improve the soil before sowing or laying a new lawn, spread evenly over the area at the rate of 4.5kg per 100 square metres and then mix it into the top 10cm of soil
