Using a non-selective herbicide to eliminate weeds around the garden makes a lot of sense for time-poor gardeners who want a 'quick fix' for the problem. Choosing the exact product to use is the next step. Weed killers are available in a range of ready-to-use (RTU) liquids in bottles with spray nozzle attached or inbuilt and as concentrated solutions that need diluting with water before use. RTUs are convenient when there's just a few weeds to spray. For larger expanses, it's more economical to dilute a concentrate into your own sprayer. There's also a dab-on gel for difficult to get at weeds. While they will all do a good job, you'll get the best results by choosing the product that most specifically meets your needs.
