Scotts Osmocote® Professional Compost & Soil Improver

An organically enriched compost that improves and revitalises garden soils, boosts plant health and encourages stronger, more productive growth. It includes Scotts Osmocote® that feeds for 3 months

  • Ideal for rejuvenating impoverished soils in vegetable and flower gardens, adding back organic goodies that years of gardening have depleted
  • May also be used to create and fill raised beds
  • The included controlled release plant food releases nutrients slowly for up to 3 months

The base ingredient, compost, is nature's own method for returning to the soil all the nutrients and other goodies that plants take out while growing

Soil revitaliser

Adding organic materials back into soil encourages beneficial soil microbes and earth worms which, in turn, improve both soil texture and nitrogen content

Contains iron sulphate which corrects iron deficiencies in plants

Australian Standard

Certified to meet the Australian Standard for Premium Composts

25L bag

Suitable for

All garden soils, especially those that have been in cultivation for many years, will benefit from the addition of organic materials in the form of quality compost to improve soil texture and quality and nutrient availability

Safe to use in soils that will be used for vegetables and herbs and as a mulch around edibles

Safe to use for new plants - the organic content and controlled release of nutrients means it will not burn soft leaves or tender young roots

Not suitable for

Don't use in hydroponic growing systems or ponds

Don't use on lawns - use only specifically named lawn topdress soils on grassed areas

How it works

  • Compost adds organic matter to the soil to replace that lost through continual cultivation and cropping. Constant hoeing, digging and raking eventually destroys the structure of the soil - compost rebuilds it.
  • It has been designed and is guaranteed to improve the overall texture and quality of soils

How to use

  1. Prepare your garden soil before planting by thoroughly working a 10cm layer of Compost & Soil Improver into the top 15cm or so of soil with a rake. Close the bag tightly after use
  2. Add another 10cm layer of compost to the bed and mix it into the previously amended soil. This should create a 15-20cm raised bed.
  3. Use as a mulch after planting (excellent for mulching around edibles)
  4. Water thoroughly after planting and as frequently as possible until plants are established
  5. For best results, after three months feed with Scotts Osmocote® Controlled release Fertiliser for Vegetables, Tomatoes, Herbs & Garden Beds

Maximum application rates
Sensitive plants 25L/m2
Tolerant plants 90L/m2

Tips, tricks & advice

Healthy Soil = Healthy Plants

When it comes to gardening, the plants you grow will only be as good as the soils in which they are growing.  Poor soil quality results in under-nourished struggling plants.
