Scotts Osmocote® Plus Trace Elements: Water Gardens & Aquatic Plants

A set and forget, no fuss water plant fertiliser designed to stimulate lush green growth and vibrant healthy flowers. Tabs feed for up to six months

  • Ideal for all pond plants and plants in fish tanks as well as plants growing in the boggy pond verge
  • Contains Scotts Osmocote® controlled release fertiliser compressed into easy to insert tablets (tabs)
  • Feeds for 6 months continuously
  • Tabs stay secure in the root zone of plants - they don't float to the water surface

Non-soluble coating

Scotts Osmocote® uses advanced prill technology that ensures even and controlled nutrient release with no wastage

The tabs have a non-soluble outer shell which protects fish from over exposure to fertiliser salts

Controlled release

Nutrients are slowly released as plants need them so there's no nutrient build-up in the water and no risk of algal blooms

Sustainable and effective

The tabs offer a simple and effective solution to your aquatic plants' needs

250g (50 tabs)

General garden or pot plant uses

How it works

  • In Water Gardens & Aquatic Plants, prills are compressed into tabs that are enclosed in a non-soluble casing to prevent water contamination
  • The release of fertiliser is controlled by temperature (not by moisture)
  • When the weather is warm in Spring, Summer and early Autumn, plants need more food and the fertiliser is released quicker
  • In Winter, when temperatures are lower, plants need less food because their growth rate is reduced, so fewer nutrients are released from the tabs

How to use

  • Apply in early Spring, when temperatures are rising and plants are putting on new growth, and repeat in early Autumn
  • Work your way around the inside diameter of every potted aquatic plant or water feature inserting tabs evenly into potting mix or pond soil, making sure they are firmly in place
  • Push aquatic fertiliser tabs approximately half the depth of the root ball
  • Use the rates in the table below as a guide for how many tabs to use
