What do you want to do? Ways to achieve your goal How Scotts® can help

Grow a plant in a pot.

  • Choose a suitable sized pot - slightly larger than the root ball of the plant you are repotting.
  • Make sure the pot has one or more good drainage holes.
  • Choose a high quality potting mix.

Osmocote® Premium Potting Mix is a top quality mix that drains well while also absorbs and retains moisture.

Be carefulBe wary of planting in urn-shaped pots.
The only way to get a mature plant out again may be to break the pot.

Maintain pot plants.

  • Water pots regularly and keep drainage holes clear.
  • Replace fertiliser when it is used up but avoid over-fertilising.
  • Use a wetting agent to stop mix becoming water repellent.
  • Don’t waterlog pot plants.

Osmocote® Pots, Planters & Indoors is specially designed for container gardening. Apply every 6 months.

Hydraflo2® Wetting Agent helps water penetrate the mix and drain well.

Make a hanging basket.

  • Choose a quality basket liner to help retain moisture.
  • Choose a high quality potting mix.
  • Avoid windy areas that dry the mix out quickly.
  • Choose trailing plants.

Osmocote® Premium Potting Mix is perfect for baskets.
