"Win a Trip to London" competition
Our Winner

Back

The lucky winner of the Scotts Australia "Win a Trip to London" competition is

Lauren Poppleton of Ruse in NSW.

Lauren found the competition when she was looking up some information on the internet about rose fertiliser and thought she would try her luck by entering.

Lauren Poppleton and her fiance, Doug"I was really surprised when I was notified that I was the winner!" Lauren exclaimed. "I thought someone must be playing a joke on me."

Far from a joke, the delicious reality is that Lauren is now planning a very special trip to England and there is an added dimension. Lauren, 27, and her fiancé, Doug, are to be married next year and so the trip will be a wonderful honeymoon for them.

A shared love of gardening

Lauren comes from a plant-loving family and shares their love of gardening. "It's such a relaxing way to spend your time, with beautiful results!" she says. "I can spend hours just pottering around in my garden, pruning, trimming and keeping the plants looking their best."

Looking for information about roses led to her winning the prize and roses are her enduring passion. Her favourite rose is the lovely, bright yellow 'Golden Gate' and like many others, she is a fan of the ever-flowering 'Iceberg' standard roses. She is also very fond of hebes and has grown many different varieties, employing them as stylish hedging plants with a hint of colour.

Lauren finds all the Scotts products great, but she especially likes to use the Osmocote® Total All Purpose Fertiliser, because it gives great flowering results with such little effort, and it is so long lasting.

Gardening is one of Lauren's top priorities at the moment as she is very busy taking many cuttings and potting them up ready to take to her new home. Doug is currently building their home himself and the garden is already being planned so that it will establish as quickly as possible.

A garden wedding

Lauren and Doug are planning an outdoor garden wedding early next year, so it is very appropriate that our competition winner and her husband will start their married life in a garden.

We at Scotts Australia wish them a bright and beautiful wedding day, a blissful honeymoon in England and a happy and successful marriage.
