1.  What Lawn Builder fertiliser can I use on my Buffalo lawn?

With the exception of Scotts® Lawn Builder™ with Weedkill, all Lawn Builder fertilisers can be used on Buffalo lawns. The weedkiller in Lawn Builder™ with Weedkill can damage buffalo grass, so it is best to fertilise with either Scotts® Lawn Builder™ or Scotts® Lawn Builder™ with Wetting Agent and deal with weeds separately.

2.  Is using a spreader really necessary?

Using a Scotts lawn spreader is very strongly recommended. A good lawn is a great asset and the investment in a spreader will make fertilising easy and rewarding. Uneven greening can occur if the fertiliser is applied by hand. Applying fertiliser by hand is much harder than it appears and over-application can damage the grass.

3.  Why is it necessary to sweep Lawn Builder fertiliser off paths and paving?

The iron that makes the grass green up so well can cause rust stains on some paving if is not swept up. Also be careful that you do not walk on wet Lawn Builder on the grass and then walk across the paving. Once the fertiliser is properly watered in, this will not be an issue. Scotts® Lawn Builder™ with Wetting Agent helps to prevent pooling and facilitates absorption.

4.  Can I use Lawn Builder fertilisers for my other garden plants?

No - use it only for your lawn grass. It is specially formulated for this purpose and the high nitrogen component is unsuitable for other plants.

5.  How soon before I can start applying Scotts® Lawn Builder™ if I use Scotts® Lawn Builder™ New
Lawns & Repairs before laying my new turf?

Do not apply any fertiliser other than Scotts® Lawn Builder™ New lawns & Repairs on lawns that are less than 8 weeks old. Diligent watering in the establishment phase is most important.

It is best not to apply Scotts® Lawn Builder™ with Weedkill until new lawns are at least 3 months old, but Lawn Builder™ or Lawn Builder™ with Wetting Agent can be applied once the new lawn is 8 to 10 weeks old.
